VHS to Disc

Wigan Local History Society has been given 4 VHS tapes relating to Wigan. Can anyone convert these to Discs? Thanks

If they're DVDs (Digital Versatile Discs), which you say they are, why do they need converting???

As most people don't have a VHS system these days it would make sense to convert to either DVD or just to a memory stick.
My son had an old 8mm cine film of my wedding in 75 converted to dvd.
